People have always asked me, “Why, after spending several years in Atlanta and being a part of the industry, did you move back home?” My response is this: One of the most important things I saw was how much that city and its community poured into its own and built the foundation that we see fully developed today. I wanted to build that at home with my city.

With this residency, “foundation” is what we are looking to build. The foundation being an event that provides artists with a place to showcase their talent, a space to develop and hone their craft, and an audience to do it in front of. The goal is to additionally provide resources in the form of panels, workshops, a network, collaborators and more to empower creators to take their careers into their own hands.
